West Baton Rouge Parish man arrested for theft of livestock

Baton Rouge, La. – On June 30, Livestock Brand Inspectors arrested 54-year-old Ricky G. Hasbert of Port Allen regarding theft of livestock in Pointe Coupee Parish.
The arrest resulted from an investigation by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s (LDAF’s) Livestock Brand Commission. It is alleged that Hasbert received sacks of crawfish and failed to render proper payment to a local producer in Pointe Coupee Parish on three occasions in May of 2024. Hasbert allegedly received a total of 135 sacks of crawfish, estimated to be valued at over $8,800 at the time.
Hasbert was booked on the warrant at the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail with his transfer pending to Pointe Coupee Parish Jail.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted the Livestock Brand Commission in this investigation.
